A programme of repairs has been carried out at Saltcoats Town Hall to ensure that the building is wind and watertight.
Irvine Bay carried out essential repairs to the building to safeguard it from the weather, and began to develop plans for its future use.
The B-listed town hall has the potential to once again become a focal point for the town centre, benefiting the community and supporting other town centre initiatives.
In September 2013 a grant of £162,699 was awarded from Historic Scotland. The Building Repair Grant will help to bring Saltcoats Town Hall back into use for the local community; as a heritage centre, gallery, museum and office space.
In November 2013 £1.1 million was secured from the Scottish Government Development Fund allowing significant progress to be made with plans for this development.
North Ayrshire Council are now taking the project forward through to completion.
A new project to redevelop Countess Street will improve the immediate environment of the Town Hall.
